Biophysical Effects of Land Cover Changes in West Africa: A Systematic Review

Summary/Abstract

This study analyzes the effect that anthropogenic land use changes to accommodate increased agriculture has on regional climates in West Africa. West Africa is experiencing rapid expansion of agriculture because of population growth. The study finds that land use changes such as deforestation contribute to regional warming.
