Climate Change and Human Health

Summary/Abstract

This academic paper reviews the direct and indirect effects of climate change on human health, as detailed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reports and other studies. The discussion includes the exacerbation of health issues due to rising sea surface temperatures, declining air quality, and destabilizing natural systems. The paper emphasizes the increased vulnerability of elderly and urban populations to these changes and calls for health-focused climate adaptation strategies that offer co-benefits of improved health outcomes and climate mitigation.
