Summary/Abstract
Researchers evaluated egg-laying in the model species Sceloporus undulatus using a new metric called egg-laying opportunity (EO). EO measures the time during which the climatic conditions are suitable for a species to lay eggs that will survive. The researchers predict that as the climate warms, EO will decline at a large majority of sites, threatening species populations.
